Details: | SUMMARY: Loss of pressure DETAILS: Jim called today to notify DWP that on June 20th the Lafayette PWS experienced a problem with entrapped air in their transmission line leading from the watershed to the "test building" (chlorine injection site) and then to the first user. The entrapped air caused a loss of pressure to the first user, and also resulted in the CL17 at the chlorine injection site to read 0.00 for less than one hour. Jim proposes to install a air release valve just above the test building. I reminded Jim that he needs to notify us as soon as practical after such an event. ACTION NEEDED: Due to the length of time since the loss of pressure, no followup testing makes sense at this time. In the future, the PWS needs to notify the user immediately and DWP to discuss followup monitoring. |
