| Details: | SUMMARY: follow up to E. Coli positive assessment well sample DETAILS: After consultation with Joel Ferguson of Columbia County on 7/6, I spoke with Mel about the 7/4/12 E. Coli positive assessment sample at Laurelwood WA Wells well source. I informed Mel of the systems responsibility to take 5 confirmation samples right away at the well. System chlorinates for residual maintenance and had a 7/4/12 coliform absent sample in the distribution system, but did not record the chlorine residual associated with the sample. Mel indicates residuals are measured twice weekly at the system and in the 0.5 mg/L range. I indicated to Mel the importance of maintaining and measuring a residual at all times, and that any potential public notice or corrective action would be discussed following the 5 confirmation samples. ACTION NEEDED: System to collect 5 samples at the well ASAP. DWP to support Columbia County as primary oversight party with potential Groundwater Rule and coliform positive issues at the system in the future. | ||
