| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliform and MCL DETAILS: Spoke with Skip regarding alert and next steps. Triggered source and repeat samples positive. They shock chlorinated the system after routine positive coliform then took repeats. System is currently locked and inaccessible to public. Public notices have been posted in several places on grounds. Water has no been drawn from well during winter months, just opened mid May for recreation season. Sloped hill side behind well head concrete pad has had dirt sloughed off from winter rains, though casing is 18" above grade-- Debris possibly down in pipe cylinder, though there is a screen covering tap. After reviewing guidelines operator doesnt think he used enough chlorine during first shock. ACTION NEEDED: Operator to shock system again. Will do a confirmation test next week. Tier 2 notice to say posted until issue resolved. 5 temporary routines to be done beginning of June. Provided follow up email to operator on the appropriate steps and time frame for doing repeats after a routine positive coliform. Emailed the Pipeline 2001 issue on coliform. I noted the requirement for triggered source testing in the repeats. | ||
