Details: | SUMMARY: Response to July pH corrosion control parameter excursions DETAILS: I spoke to Jim about the July 12 - 14 pH excursions for Corbetts corrosion control (soda ash) system. Jim indicated the low levels on 7/12 and 7/14, 6,95 and 6.93, below the minimum 7.0, are due to higher temperatures consuming a greater amount of the soda ash. The 7/13 level of 9.94, he feels is not representative due to the calibrating of the soda ash feed pump. To remedy the low pH levels, Jim dialed up the soda ash feed pump from 20 to 48 %, with a new feed pump that has been working well. The pH levels in August are now at around 7.6 - 7.8 after the reservoir (entry point). I indicated to Jim, that 9 cumulative pH excursions over a 6-month period constitute a violation. ACTION NEEDED: Jim to closely monitor soda ash injection system, with DWP to support corrosion control measures at Corbett. | ||
