| Details: | SUMMARY: Total Coliform Positive Samples DETAILS: I received an alert for two total colform positive samples taken 9-11-12. The samples were taken at 34583 HWY 101 and the Dike sample tap. I called Bill Mitchell who said that they had taken repeat samples and had been flushing the system. He said one of the sample taps was new, but other than that, he didnt know why they might have been total coliform positive. The chlorine residual ranged from 0.40 to 0.98 and a third sample taken that same day was absent of coliform bacteria. I gave him the number for OERS (1-800-452-0311) and explained that he should call that number and ask to speak with someone from the Drinking Water Services program if any of the repeat samples came back e-coli positive. ACTION NEEDED: System to contact DWS with the results of repeat sampling. System to prepare to distribute Tier 2 public notice due to total coliform MCL violation, unless repeat samples are e-coli positive. | ||
