Details: | SUMMARY: Corrosion Control Assistance DETAILS: The water system at Rural Dell Elementary has an existing corrosion control system. In June of 2012, lead samples results were over the MCL. The Circuit Rider was contacted by Joel Ferguson with Clackamas County regarding the need for assistance at the School. The school serves 230 students and staff. There are 2 water treatment units at the school. The failure was in the north wing which has the lower water demand. HBH visited the school to inspect the corrosion control system. At that time, Colin had determined that the HydroBlend canister had run out of media. Previous canisters were see-through to allow the operator to inspect the media. This canister was opaque. I recommended that the school look at installing a flow meter to track the number of gallons the cartridge has treated. This would allow them to replace the canister when needed. Also researched the HydroBlend treatment material to determine that it is a proprietary blend of what appears to be orthophosphate with some limestone for pH control. ACTION NEEDED: None needed at this time. |
