| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive repeat samples, non-EPA DETAILS: Called and left message with Mr. Puehl on 8/3 to invite more discussion of possible corrective action. No sure what hes done since the last alert but one distribution sample in this second set of repeats is still positive. System was installed in 2004 and there is no evidence of leakage in distribution system. ACTION NEEDED: I explained to him that since the presence of coliform contamination is a fleeting thing that it was important to look at the totality of data for the system not just keep testing until a sample came back negative. Suggested residual chlorination as an option expecially give the size of their reservoir but he says he doent think the other homeowneres will go for it. He suggested UV as a possibility. I made sure he understood that UV has no residual but might be worth exploring post reservoir. Urged him to seek someone with more technical expertise. Also suggested that they try to shock chlorinate the well and system again before investing in any treatment system. Also suggexted that maybe only one person be in charge of taking samples. | ||
