Details: | SUMMARY: Site visit DETAILS: I visited the Troy Elementary School on Thursday, September 13th. The well is located in front of the school. System pressure is maintained through a small pressure tank inside the building. The wellhead sanitary seal appears to be adequate. The well is connected to the underground irrigation system with a Wilkins 950 XL double-check valve assembly. This DCVA was leaking and needs to be tested to ensure it is working properly. It was also advised to detach the garden hose at the wellhead to prevent a potential cross connection. The water quality monitoring is current. In the past, coliform samples collected at the kitchen sink yielded positive results. After consulting with Amy Word in the DWP Pendleton Office, the water system is now using the library and bathroom sinks as sample sites. At time of visit, I spoke with Fred Byers who is the teacher at the school. Sampling and maintenance is done by Irv Hafer (541-828-7723) the school custodian. ACTION NEEDED: No action needed. |
