Assistance Type: WATER QUALITY ALERT RESPONSE
Reasons: Nitrate
N/A

Details: SUMMARY: 9/7/12 nitrate exceeds alert level DETAILS: Lakeshore had another nitrate sample over 5mg/l. They have a history of increased nitrates yet they are all under the MCL. As in the 3/30/12 survey it was mentioned the high nitrate levels may be attributed by the single residence using a lot of fertilizer on her garden. The well heads are on her property side and she has been told but refuses to listen. Yet there is no evidence of this claim. I told Fred and Todd if the nitrate levels exceed the MCL and any time then they would have to seek info about a nitrate removal system. ACTION NEEDED: Monitor quarterly samples and if they exceed the MCL then will talk with state about a nitrate removal system.

Associated Alerts: CHEM5527 - 09/20/2012 - NITRATE
