Details: | SUMMARY: Trace level of Xylenes found in test sample, well below MCL DETAILS: This system has shown trace levels of Xylene before and for a period was sampling quarterly. System now tests annually for Xylene and at the time of year when prior tests showed highest readings. Confirmed with Russ K and Daniel H at State DWS that this test results does not prompt any further testing. Send an e-mail to Mr Blum who is out this week, but also spoke to Ms Keezel who is more directly in charge of system compliance. They have been investigating possible sources. Sample site was inside one of their guesthouses, not a garage or other site with likely VOCs nearby. She did say that one of the earlier samples was taken when a small gas fired engine had been running in the driveway. She suspects that the extensive repaving project on Hwy 138 might be the problem, as they have also had a Xylene hit at their Tokette Village site. I suggested they might also want to have a source sample tested, and that an investigative sample be coded “special”. (Not certain why we did not get an alert on Tokette Village) ACTION NEEDED: None | ||
