Details: SUMMARY: **BOIL WATER NOTICE** DETAILS: 3 repeats and 1 triggered source sample were collected 11/8- one repeat at the mens sink was E. coli positive, one repeat at the subway sink was total coliform positive and the triggered source was total coliform positive. Umatilla Co. Health Dept handled the public notice at the truck stop and adjoining RV Park. Restaurants were shut down until they could comply with the boil water restrictions. Site visits were made multiple times by all agencies. Investigation revealed some history that drinking water was not made aware of: well pump went down on 10/24/12. 1A Construction brought in 10K gallons of potable water from City of Stanfeld for cistern. Well pump back online 10/25/12. After the boil water notice, Pursewell Pumps chlorinated the well and cistern (11/9, 11/11-12). System flushed and had no residual when they collected 4 samples on 11/10. Boil water notice was lifted on 11/13. A visit to the system on 11/13 showed no residual in the distribution. A high of 2.4 chlorine was detected on 11/12. A repeat sample collected on 11/13 at the Subway sink was absent for bacteria. ACTION NEEDED: Take 5 routine samples in December. Communicate with DWP in the event of water emergencies.
