Details: | SUMMARY: pH excursions on August water quality report DETAILS: Called Ralph about excursions. 24 excursions in August and 3 in September below the minimum pH 7.2. There was a big leak-- the system was out of water. He bypasssed the calcite contactor in order to provide water ASAP. Finally he discovered 2 leaks between the tank and the well. Once these were repaired the water was switched back to flowing through the calcite contactor. Today the tank is full and the pH is 7.2 Jay Whistler at PumpPro is going out to work on the pump that only runs when hand activated. System does not have a master plan. There is an undersized pump in the well. Originally there was a 5 horsepower pump. If the pump is changed to 5 horsepower the flow rate will be about 70 gallons per minute. This will exceed the capacity of the calcite contactor with a maximum flow of 35 gallons per minute. ACTION NEEDED: Post public notice | ||
