Details:	SUMMARY: Regulatory Assistance re: Boil Water Advisory DETAILS: Silas called this morning to inquire about how to proceed to get the JJ Water Company water system off of their current boil water advisory. We discussed the existing water system (2 wells connected to system: Wells #1 and #3-- Well #2 disconnected). Well #1 had E coli confirmed - and is source leading to boil water advisory. Well #3 is fine - both Well #1 and Well #3 are adequately constructed per Tom Pattee. I informed Silas that the DWS geologists had notified Melvin on prior occasion that Well #2 is inadequately constructed - and acts as potential conduit for contamination - and should be properly abandoned. In order to life boil water advisory, they must either valve off Well #1, or provide 4 log innactivation of viruses. Silas indicated that the wells were poor producers, and that reliance on only Well #3 was not an option. We then discussed in more detail requirements for plan review and documentation of 4 log innactivation. We also discussed typical numbers that might be used in the Disinfection Verification Form. ACTION NEEDED: None at this time - wait for PR submittal.
