| Details: | SUMMARY: One of their 18 annual Arsenic samples exceeded the MCL DETAILS: Scott Keiffer alerted me that one of their arsenic results came in at 0.0115 mg/L today, just over the MCL of 0.01 mg/L. This sample was taken at their residence hall, which is one of the big (POE/Point of Connection) units. I emailed him the appropriate Tier 2 Public Notice. He is researching the price and time it will take to replace the media in that treatment unit. These units are designed with a "lead" and"lag" tank, so not sure what happened to allow it to exceed. After recharging the treatment media at this unit, they will re-take the sample at the same location to show the level no longer exceeds the standard. This location will take arsenic samples quarterly for a year. ACTION NEEDED: Await re-sample results after media has been replaced, and copy of public notice. Change chemical sampling schedule for this one location to quarterly. | ||
