| Details: | SUMMARY: E Coli Confirmed in Source Springs #3 and #4 DETAILS: DWS received the results of triggered source sampling earlier today. Three of the five "source" samples were TC+ and Ecoli+, therefore, the E Coli is confirmed in Springs 3 & 4. I spoke with Melissa at Tillamook County - who consulted Annette Pampush of Tillamook County. They reported that the source water from Springs 3 & 4 had been isolated from the system shortly after the Dec 21st initial detection of Ecoli. Also, during this time period, it was confirmed that the PWS had maintained chlorine residual of greater than 0.4 ppm. I performed a theoretical calculation of disinfection contact time and determined that it is likely that the system achieves 4 log viral reduction. Also, it has been two weeks since these sources were isolated. Therefore, I see no reason to place the system on a boil water advisory at this time. The source water from Springs 3 & 4 must remain off-line until evaluated by DWS geologists and an appropriate corrective action plan is approved by the County and DWS, and completed. ACTION NEEDED: Discuss followup with County next week. | ||
