| Details: | SUMMARY: Arsenic Treatment Assistance DETAILS: The City installed an Ion Exchange WTP for the removal of arsenic from its well water. This project was originally an EPA Demonstration Project. The original 700 series media failed and was switched out by the EPA/Kinetico w/300 series media. This media has recently failed. The City contact HBH for assistance w/this situation.The City serves 1,997 people through 708 connections.Met w/wtp rep. (Tonka) regarding possible immediate and long-term solutions for the City. It was the opinion of the Tonka rep that there would be the possibility of alternative resins available for the City (which are more selective toward arsenic vs. TOC). Tonka does not prefer Ion Exchange due to the difficulties in cleaning, which is the problem being currently experienced by the City.Discussed results of the meeting w/Tonka w/the City. Requested additional information regarding cleaning strategies that the City is considering as well as any work done on alternative resins. ACTION NEEDED: Review information on cleaning strategies and work that has been done on alternative resins. | ||
