| Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on customer complaint DETAILS: Chris, a resident, called me this morning to express her frustration regarding the boil water notice for E. coli positive contamination at the Oak Grove Water Co, and the length of time to address the problem. I explained DWS role in reviewing the proposed spring improvement project for conformance with DWS construction standards, and to ensure public health protection by working with Hood River County Environmental Health to enforce the existing boil water notice until the project is completed, and clean coliform samples are received. We reviewed the timeframe of plan submission to DWS on 10/22/12 and conditional approval letter forwarded to system on 11/6/12, and the sequence of DWS certifying project completion. I indicated that a site visit would be required prior to project completion. She asked if I could expedite completion, and I indicated my role as plan review engineer rather than the design engineer or enforcement coordinator. ACTION NEEDED: DWS to review project for final approval upon project completion, and continue to support Hood River County with regulatory oversight for the water system. | ||
