| Details: | SUMMARY: Respond to Ecoli alert DETAILS: Alert showed Ecoli was confirmed at source. Upon notification of alert I spoke with Betsy Parry and she did a contact time calculation based upon current population usage and high residual chlorine levels. This allowed us to determine that the system needed a tier 1 notice but not a tier 1 boil notice. I then contacted Su and told her about posting a notice in public places (store door and bathroom door of RV Park). Additionally I told her she needs to monitor and record her residual chlorine daily and keep it above 1.5mg/L for the next couple of weeks. Then I told her she needs to take another water sample but this time from the distribution system and not at the source. ACTION NEEDED: Awaiting sample from distribution before further action is taken. In the shore term we need to change the system to 4 log disinfection from residual maintenance and look at possible system deficiencies that might be contributing to Ecoli at the source. | ||
