Details: | SUMMARY: Lead and Copper Issues DETAILS: The Eddyville Charter School has a groundwater water system that serves approx. 200 students and staff. The October 2011 lead and copper tests resulted in lead levels over the EPA Action Level with copper levels approaching the Action Level (not not exceeding).HBH was briefly contacted by Mr. Lightle to discuss the possibility of fixture replacement. Subsequently, it was made known by county staff that the schools existing corrosion control system may not have been in operation.Completed preliminary recommendations report. As iron concentrations appear to be at a level which will make treatment necessary prior to corrosion control, I recommended that the school work with their water treatment company to find an iron treatment solution and then possibly revisit the corrosion control strategy. ACTION NEEDED: Further assist school and Lincoln County with solutions for both corrosion control and iron treatment, as needed. |
