| Details: | SUMMARY: Total coliform MCL exceedance DETAILS: Brian called to ask how to respond to reports of total coliform in the water system where he works. Brian mentioned a single sample followed by 3 or 4 repeat samples, all with total coliform present. I told Brian to make sure at least one source sample is collected from the wellhead sample tap, otherwise I told him the system will need five samples in May. We discussed the basics of shock chlorination, investigating the cause of the coliform, and public notice but I asked Brian to speak with Mike Obereigner at Jackson County before taking any action to make sure Mike thinks its the right choice. ACTION NEEDED: System to collect one triggered source sample and five routines in May. Operator to follow up with Jackson County Health for further details regarding response. | ||
