| Details: | SUMMARY: Boil Order - Loss of Pressure - Replacing exposed pipe DETAILS: Jim indicated at 2pm today that District has issued a localized boil order as it lost positive pressure today to about 30 homes as they are replacing older exposed section of 4 inch steel waterline on Littlepage Road from Pounder Cemetary to Louden Road, with 6 inch main and installing new hydrant. Door hangers placed and all 30 homes called. System is following DWS best management practices for repairing mains and restoring service due to loss in pressure. District is making improvements today, and flushing and ensuring adequate 20 psi and chlorine residuals, then collecting a coliform sample. District indicated lack of upsized piping and gate vales, and flexibility to isolate sections of distribution puts system at risk of similar loss of pressure cases. ACTION NEEDED: District to implement BMP for repairing watermain and restoring pressure. District to consult with DWS prior to lifting boil order. | ||
