| Details: | SUMMARY: Lead and Copper Issues DETAILS: The system has a groundwater water system that serves approximately 200 students and staff. The October 2011 lead and copper tests resulted in lead levels over the EPA Action Level with copper levels approaching the Action Level (but not exceeding).HBH was briefly contacted by Mr. Lightle to discuss the possibility of fixture replacement. Subsequently, it was made known by county staff that the schools existing corrosion control system may not have been in operation.Previously completed preliminary recommendations report, however, the presence of high iron levels make it necessary to develop an iron removal strategy before moving forward with any corrosion control changes.Corresponded with David Love (Culligan) and Landon Lightle (Eddyville School) regarding recommendations for developing an iron removal strategy in conjunction with corrosion control. ACTION NEEDED: Further assist school and Lincoln County with solutions for both corrosion control and iron treatment, as needed. | ||
