Details: | SUMMARY: Arsenic Treatment DETAILS: Pratum Elementary School is a small, rural grade school in the Silver Falls School Dist. The school is a NT-NC system with a daily service population of about 91 persons. The well had exceeded the arsenic MCL until an adsorptive media process from Sunshine Water (using ADI G2 Media) was installed. Arsenic levels subsequently dropped to Non Detect levels. This method worked for about 1 year, and then the Arsenic levels again climbed above the MCL. New media was then installed by Schneider Equipment. The new media did not operate as desired, so the SD attempted to install a smaller RO-based treatment system for the school. Just prior to final installation, it was discovered that the piping of the school would make a single unit installation difficult and expensive.Pete Paradis contacted HBH for assistance with this continuation of the arsenic issue.Met with Mr. Paradis at district offices and reviewed the files on the school system. Corresponded with affected parties (Culligan, School District, Carrie Gentry and Carolyn Stegall) regarding the proposed treatment installation and other possible solutions, including split plumbing systems. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to assist SD on this matter as requested. |
