Details: | SUMMARY: Localized Boil Water Notice - Loss of Pressure DETAILS: Joel of Tualatin Valley WD (who manages Valley View-VVWD) informed me at 1115 am on 6/7 that VVWDs single reservoir was dewatered early on 6/7 due to a pressure transducer failure. This resulted in a loss of pressure or low pressure, in several homes in two hydraulically isolated pressure zones served directly by the reservoir. A localized boil water notice is in effect for the 32 homes in these two zones, as calls of low/no pressure were limited to these two zones and pressure readings were collected at the edges of the two zones at 9 am on 6/7 and read 55-57 psi. Per DWS no pressure BMP, the transducer is being fixed, tank being refilled and pressure being restored to the area, the area is being flushed, and chlorine residual levels are in the normal range of 1.0 mg/L. Three coliform samples in the affected area on 6/7 with results due 6/8 at 9 am. ACTION NEEDED: Localized boil water notice in effect for the 745 and 640 foot elevation zones via door hangers. Multnomah County public health contact personnel have been notified of the event. TVWD to confer with DWS if results indicate presence of coliform bacteria. I provided Joel with DWS after hours, weekend phone contact information. DWS, in consultation with Multnomah County, to provide support throughout event as necessary. |
