| Details: | SUMMARY: Contact Tracer Testing DETAILS: The Pedee School is a middle school which is part of the Luckimute Valley Charter School located southwest of Monmouth in Polk County. The school has a single well system which serves 44 students & 5 staff in a single school building. Liquid sodium hypochloride is added to the well water to provide for residual maintenance chlorine. The School has a history of positive total coliform. On 12/21/12 & the subsequent 12/27/12 repeats, the well tested positive for E. Coli. These were source water tests prior to the chlorination system. A boil water notice was issued & the school has been using bottled water since the positive test. The HBH was contacted by Dan Austin to provide assistance in possibly locating the source of the E. Coli as well as verifying whether the schools system could provide for 4-log treatment if required. Discussed with Dan Austin the correspondence between Polk County, DWS, & myself regarding future steps to be taken to ensure that the well source is providing safe water. ACTION NEEDED: Provide additional assistance if requested. | ||
