| Details: | SUMMARY: Boil Water Notice issued due to high turbidity DETAILS: During the water system survey yesterday, the filtered water turbidity was noted as >1 NTU and rising. Filtered water turbidity rose as high as 4.4 NTU before shutting off flow to the clearwell. Since water >1 NTU had entered the clearwell, a boil notice was put in effect that day by phone (yesterday). The source water was very turbid due to a physical disturbance, likely one or more elk. The chart recorder on the turbidimeter indicated the rise in turbidity started about 2 to 3 AM yesterday morning. Turbidity was down to just under 0.5 NTU by noon today. ACTION NEEDED: Require Garden Valley install auto-shutoff if turbidity exceeds 1 NTU. | ||
