Details: | SUMMARY: Site Visit DETAILS: Hood River County Health Department (Ian Stromquist, REHS) met with Mark Beam (Ice Fountain WD / Oak Grove Water Company), Bret Moore, PE (Ice Fountain WD) and James Nusralla, PE, DWS in the field to examine progress toward serving Oak Grove Water Company customers with Ice Fountain Water District (OR41 00387) water (intertie). So far, 85% of the customers of Oak Grove Water Company have been tied into Ice Fountain Water District-- they are now physically disconnected from the Oak Grove Water Company system (and contaminated source). Test done on 6/28/13 showed that the water is ‘absent’ of coliform bacteria. The remaining 20 Oak Grove Water Company Customers are located on ‘Binns Hill’ and on ‘Kingsley’ roads and are still served by the Oak Grove Spring. These customers were notified today in person by Mark Beam the continuing need to boil their water. Mark Beam hung door hanger notices (see file) and spoke to people in person.Hood River County Health Department erected a sign at the entrance to the road system serving these customers that they were still on a boil water advisory.Mark Beam reported that a new pumping system would need to be installed before the remaining 20 customers would be tied into the Ice Fountain Water District. Mark’s estimate was that this could be done within weeks. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to intertie Oak Grove Water Company customers into the Ice Fountain Water District as per the Bilateral Compliance Agreement. |
