Details: | SUMMARY: cyanotoxin results back from lab DETAILS: The lab analysis of their raw water sample (collected 7/30/13) showed MYC-LA at 2.08 micrograms/L, and no other cyanotoxins above the detection limit. I confirmed with Ray Pardee by phone that he needs to start weekly finished water sampling as well as raw water. He will take the finished sample at the entry point. He had already already consulted our algae resources website and let the next downstream system (Creswell) know about this development. He will check with Casey Lyon on Monday as to his responsibilities for notifying any other downstream systems. Meanwhile, the Drinking Water Program has asked the LSSU lab to re-run the microcyctin analysis on last weeks raw water sample using a second lab method (ELISA) because it is curious to have results so high in one category of microcystin and zero in all the rest. ACTION NEEDED: Starting next Tuesday, August 6th, the water system will begin submitting a weekly finished water sample for analysis as well as a weekly raw water sample. Casey Lyon will be available to assist Ray next week if he has more questions. Await results of the lab re-testing to confirm the cyanotoxin status in the reservoir. | ||
