| Details: | SUMMARY: Response to spill of wastewater discharged into lower Nehalem River DETAILS: I was notified at 930 am on 9/6 by Linda (Public Health Duty officer) of a 9/5 spill of roughly 25,000 gallons of wastewater into the lower Nehalem River from the Nehalem wastewater treatment plant - which has already been cleaned up by the City as of 9/6 - OERS Spill Report 2013-1829. After confirming the location of the spill with the Citys wastewater staff on 10:30 am on 9/6 to be roughly a tenth of mile from the mouth of the river (boat ramp), I determined that no public water systems were impacted by this spill. The City of Nehalems intake is on Bobs creek up in the watershed and City of Wheelers wells are also located upstream from the spill location. Therefore, no notification is necessary ACTION NEEDED: No action at this time. | ||
