| Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on E. coli + sample at well #2 DETAILS: After consulting with Joel Ferguson of Columbia County, I spoke to Curt on 9/24 about the MHPs follow up after the 9/11 E coli + well #2 sample. County had indicated on 9/16 that well #2 immediately shut off and not serving water after EC+ source sample, and have verified through a site visit on 9/13, that system chlorine residuals measured up to 1.0 mg/L throughout the system. County & DWP had directed Curt that 5 confirmation samples necessary asap. Given 3 routine samples collected on 9/11 are coliform absent, well valved off immediately, and good residuals, County & DWP determined boil water notice was not necessary. Curt indicated on 9/24 that well #2s line was chlorinated after initial EC+ source sample, and he is not able to collect valid confirmation samples until system has a well tap closer to wellhead or chlorine drops to 0 ppm at current source sampling location. Historic well #2 source samples have been taken prior to chlorinator. ACTION NEEDED: County to continue to work with system to collect 5 valid confirmation source samples representative of well #2 asap. System to not use well #2 indefinitely. DWP to offer support to County. | ||
