| Details: | SUMMARY: Confirmed e. Coli in Springs 1 & 3 DETAILS: Received positive e. Coli confirmation sample results for Springs 1 & 3 from sampling conducted on 9/23/2013. Confirmation samples are in response to initial positive e. Coli annual assessment samples for Springs 1 & 3 collected 9/12/2013. I spoke with Randy Parrott to assure disinfection treatment is adequate. All three storage tanks are in use and free chlorine residual is 0.7 mg/L. According to calculations in the 2012 water system survey, disinfection practices described today are adequate to inactivate any e. Coli in the sources water. Also, routine distribution sample from 9/5/2013 was absent for coliform. Therefore, public notification is not necessary at this point in time. ACTION NEEDED: Recommend Randy work with Rick Hallmark tomorrow when he returns to the Coos county EHD and consider requesting a site visit by the regional hydrogeologist to review spring construction and potentail surface water influence. Corrective action is now required under the GWR. | ||
