Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on OERS #2013-2013 - sewage overflow - Beaverton Creek DETAILS: Allen notified me at 8:30 am on 9/30 that approximately 2,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into Beaverton Creek, near 9995 SW Cypress St, Beaverton, 97076 due to debris blocking the sewage collection system late on the evening of 9/29. City of Beaverton is working on cleaning up and addressing the spill. After reviewing maps of the area, and discussing the location of the intakes of nearby public water systems with the DWS Technical Staff contact for the area, it was determined that Beaverton Creek flows into Rock Creek and into the Tualatin River downstream of the intakes for any public water systems in the vicinity. Tualantin River flows east into the Willamette, and there are no public system intakes on the Lower Willamette downstream of the confluence. Consequently, I determined that no notification to any public system was necessary. ACTION NEEDED: No action at this time. |
