Details: SUMMARY: Nitrate sample > than MCL DETAILS: Sample marked EP for well has nitrate sample of 19.0. . Pete is checking with Water Lab to establish were the sample was taken. If this is a pretreatment sample, Pete will send us a written explaination of the sampling site and resample after treatment. This is a copy of email from Pete Paradis Carolyn-- I called Waterlab and I was told that the sample did not come from pre-treatment. It came from the boys bathroom. With that I immediately called our equipment installer and asked for a response ASAP. Schnieder equipment will be out tomorrow to look at the equipment. Helen Fetsch and myself are both certified water system operators with the school district she will be meeting Schnieder equipment. If there is anything else for us to do please work with Helen and CC me as well. Her contact phone is 503 991 7553 I don’t know how to get an alert any faster? The waterLab sample was taken on the 10th. The report was received in our office on the 20th and went from the district mail room to the maintenance office on the 23rd or 24th. my secretary got it to me and was in my in box yesterday the 25th . I asked if waterlab could call me if there were any samples taken any where for anything that exceed the MCL. They said they typically don’t do that. Do you have a suggestion that would allow us to respond quicker? Do I need to find a different company? ACTION NEEDED: Further follow up by Helen Fetsch- emailThe contractor came out, he found that the pump in the brine tank for treating nitrates was not working correctly and there was no salt in the softener brine tank. Both problems have been corrected, system is running normal as of yesterday. I took a sample and sent it to Water Labs.
