Details: | System had a positive E-Coli in distribution in October of 2020. Since that time plans have been drawn up to install chlorination to the system. Plan review was submitted on 1/21/2021. System received from State of Oregon Drinking Water Program a temporary chlorination to disinfect the distribution until permanent treatment plant is built. Water overflow from 300,000 gallon reservoir is flowing chlorinated water from its overfill into nearby creek. DEQ was notified by a complaint this was happening. System had to interrupt temporary chlorination to system on the evening of 1/22/2021. If system is unable to chlorinate for any reason they are to be on a boil notice until further notice or chlorination without overfill to the creek can occur. System was notified via phone on 1/22/2021 and a boil notice was issued but later retracted due negative repeat source samples. Board member indicated that plans submitted had the treatment injected after the large tanks to avoid this issue in the future. Plans have not yet been approved. A meeting with OHA, DEQ and County Health Department with occur the week 1/25/2021 to discuss temporary plans related to the discharge and possible solutions. |
