The previous weeks 5 specials had low residual and one was E. coli positive, indicating not enough flushing had taken place. While there are no blowoffs at the ends of the distribution system, the 4 gpm in leaks throughout the distribution system provides a steady, albeit slow, flush over time. Chlorine residuals from Mondays (Oct. 14th) sampling indicate sufficient flushing occurred and chlorine demand was quenched.
