| Details: | SUMMARY: Detection of Xylenes and Ethylbenzene at EP-A (Slow Sand Plant) DETAILS: I received an alert on 9/30/13 about a detection of Xylene at 0.0071 mg/l and Ethylbenzene at 0.00080 mg/l from VOC sampling conducted at EP-A (slow sand plant) on 9/18/13. I advised that they take a confirmation sample as soon as possible to determine if quarterly monitoring is needed. ACTION NEEDED: Take confirmation sample as soon as possible for Xylenes and Ethylbenzene at EP-A. Quarterly monitoring may be needed unless the average of the confirmation sample and the 9/18 sample are less than the 0.0005 mg/l minimum detection limit. This confirmation sample will also suffice for the 1st quarterly sample, since it will occur in October 2013. | ||
