Details: | SUMMARY: Distribution System Manganese DETAILS: The City of St Paul owns and operates a water system which supplies approximately 400 people through 153 connections. The City has a groundwater sourced system with 1 permanent well and 1 emergency well and a pressure filter plant for iron and manganese removal. The Circuit Rider was contacted by Frank Sinclair to provide assistance with water quality issues. The source well has very high iron and manganese. In addition, the City has recently experienced water quantity issues with the well. Met with City Council to discuss the cause and possible solutions for the high levels of manganese present in the distribution system. Discussed frequency of flushing. Due to low capacity of finished water pumps, complete flushing is difficult. Also provided City with options for moving forward with financing of a larger project. ACTION NEEDED: Provide further assistance as requested. |
