Details: SUMMARY: Fuel tank on gravel bar in North Santiam River DETAILS: Received phone message from Julie Black of a 1500-2000 gallon rusted fuel tank on a gravel bar in the middle of the Santiam River about 150 yards below the Jefferson Boat Ramp near Ferry St (OERS Report # 2013-2738). Notified City of Jefferson treatment plant and spoke with Jeff Buskirk (541-327-1135). Jeff was aware of the fuel tank. He said it was empty and had been in the river for about 25 years. About two weeks ago it migrated down river and became lodged on the gravel bar. ACTION NEEDED: No action taken at this time.
