Details: SUMMARY: Low Chlorine Residuals from Reservoirs DETAILS: The City of Amity owns and operates a surface water treatment system. The water system serves 1460 persons through 600 connections. Matt Johnson contacted the Circuit Rider due to low chlorine residuals intermittently leaving the water reservoirs. The city has a small reservoir and a larger reservoir which are fed through one transmission main. The piping configuration is such that the water in the reservoir is of significant age to lose chlorine residual. Met with Matt Johnson at City Shops. Reviewed piping and valving configuration of reservoirs. Recommended operation of reservoirs over a larger depth range to allow for better circulation of water. ACTION NEEDED: Research pumps for installation in the large reservoir to provide circulation.
