Details: | SUMMARY: Water System Preliminary Evaluation DETAILS: Camp Tamarack has a small water system to provide water to the cabins and main clubhouse building. The water source is Dark Lake. This surface water is treated through an older style Harmsco cartridge filter then disinfected. The existing cartridge system is not on the approved list from OHA. The camp has been inactive since 2010, but is being reopened for Summer 2014 in cooperation with Deschutes County Parks. The Circuit Rider was contacted to provide a preliminary review of the water system to determine what steps must be taken to provide drinking water per OHA-DWS regulations. Made initial inspection of the existing treatment system and reservoir. Made some preliminary recommendations regarding steps for properly improving the water system, which would include a new treatment system and possibly a new water reservoir. Reviewed preliminary concept from Water Quality Systems (not part of official Plan Review) to advice Charlie Anderson regarding the requirements for bringing water system into compliance. ACTION NEEDED: Provide assistance with plant operations training, if requested. |
