Details: | SUMMARY: Meeting with USFS Dorena regarding Arsenic Issue DETAILS: We discuss compliance with the arsenic MCL at USFS Dorena genetic research center. Talked with our plan review engineers about the possibility of using a few Point-Of-Use (POU) devices for compliance with Arsenic and they both said yes, we can approve POU devices for inorganic contaminates such as Arsenic. We have Best Available Technologies published in our rules 61-0050 (page 8-9) for POU to remove arsenic and activated alumina or reverse osmosis are currently they only two that are listed as proven technologies. If another device is used say with another type of adsorptive media, a pilot study will most likely be required to show it actually works before final approval is granted. Page 16 of the above mentioned link to our construction standards section of our rules has additional POU details you may want to be aware of. ACTION NEEDED: I will work with Brad Daniels our compliance officer to make the necessary edits to the Bilateral Compliance Agreement and send you our draft copy ASAP. |
