Details: | SUMMARY: Complaint from a resident regarding high chlorine DETAILS: I got a call from an anonymous resident at Big Spruce MHP saying that the chlorine in the water system is very high, he can smell it and it burns his skin and irritates his eyes when he takes a shower. I reviewed the residual data online that has been reported from coliform testing the results show the chlorine levels around 1 ppm with the most recent being 1.33 ppm. This high of chlorine can cause people to complain, but is well below the MCL of 4.0 ppm. I called Kevin Hunt and told him about the complaint. He said he will contact the onsite manager at the system and find out if she is monitoring the chlorine correctly. Kevin got back to me and said that the onsite person is collecting samples from around the park as needed for chlorine residuals, she uses a digital meter and records them. Kevin said she is trained appropriately and knows what she is doing. Kevin also stated if we knew which unit was complaining they maybe able to find out if this is something that is related to days that a new batch of chlorine is used. ACTION NEEDED: None, I do not have a follow up number for the complainant and have spoken to the operator at the facility. No further action needed. |
