| Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up on E. Coli + store samples DETAILS: Together with DWS hydrogelogist and Dept. of Agriculture, I meet with Derrick, new store owner, to discuss the recent string of E. coli positive samples in the stores drinking water. We discussed the following: 1.) Ensure boil water notice is posted at all sinks (boil notice is posted on front door). 2.) Improvements to the spring box and immediate area to miminimze impacts from potential nearby fecal sources of contamination (wildlife) and ensure the area around spring box drains away from box more effectively. 3.) The general steps necessary to re-establish chlorination and achieve 4-log viral disinfection in the interim as the system is addressing spring box issues, which would include ensuring an adequate chlorine feed and chlorine residual sampling after the contact time vessel (900 gallon tank). ACTION NEEDED: System to : 1.) Post boil notice on back sink in store or remove fixture. 2.) Contact DWS or Department of Agriculture for any questions relating to springbox improvements or re-establishing chlorination with contact time, in the preparation for being able to lift the boil water notice and resume water service to store and home. DWS to support Dept. of Agriculture and system with any technical assistance. | ||
