| Details: | SUMMARY: Disinfection Reporting Assistance DETAILS: The Pedee School is a middle school which is part of the Luckimute Valley Charter School located southwest of Monmouth in Polk County. The school has a single well system which serves 44 students and 5 staff in a single school building. Liquid sodium hypochloride is added to the well water to provide for residual maintenance chlorine. The Pedee School has a history of positive total coliform. On 12/21/12 and the subsequent 12/27/12 repeats, the well tested positive for E. coli. These were source water tests prior to the chlorination system. A boil water notice was issued and the school has been using bottled water since the positive test. The Circuit Rider provided assistance verifying that the school’s system could provide for 4-log treatment. Reviewed chlorine monitoring requirements with Dan Austin. Provided Mr. Austin with a Monthly Disinfection Report for Groundwater Systems template with basic information completed. ACTION NEEDED: Provide additional assistance if requested. | ||
