Details: | SUMMARY: Customer Complaint DETAILS: Received a call from Mr. Beckham. His neighbor was diagnosed with Campylobacter, and he was concerned it could have been from the city water supply. He and his family had also experienced some gastrointestinal issues. He also stated that at times there was a strong chlorine odor and taste, and sometimes a musty smell to the water. I explained the disinfection process at the water treatment plant and the chlorine residual in the distribution system would kill any bacteria in the drinking water, and that the city was meeting all the drinking water standards. I called staff at the city water treatment plant and asked them to respond to the complaint. Suggested they consider collecting a coliform sample at his or the neighbors residence as a courtesy. ACTION NEEDED: City staff to respond. |
