Details: SUMMARY: WTP Operational Assistance DETAILS: Jewell School has a modular slow sand filter water treatment plant that provides water to the school as well as 11 connections that serve a total of 172 people. The source for the schools water is an infiltration well located on the bank of Beneky Creek. Sodium Hypochlorite is added for disinfection after the sand filters. The Circuit Rider was contacted by Evan Hofeld (OHA) when the previous operator left employment with the school district. Evan requested that the Circuit Rider assist the new operation (Ron Wanner) with operational issues and recommendations. Reviewed correspondence and potential deficiencies with Evan Hofeld. Had phone and email conversations with Ron Wanner prior to a site visit. Met with Ron Wanner at the water treatment plant. Discussed operational recommendations for cleaning the slow sand filters, cleaning the raw water dosing tank, venting the finished water reservoirs, and chlorine dosing. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to assist Ron Wanner with operational needs.
