Assistance Type: | OTHER REGULATORY - Follow up to wildfire loss of pressure | ||
Reasons: | VOCs |

Details: | While system has been inactivated due to not having any guests since the onset of Covid in March 2020, the system issued a do not drink - do not boil notice to 3 year round users on-site, due to unknown contamination resulting from wildfire damage and loss of pressure with a power outage. System is conducting uni-directional flushing and will sample at impacted burned connections for VOCs. DWS forwarded a letter to system requesting an action plan within 30 days to follow up on impacts due to the September 2020 wildfire impacts at the water system. System is currently using the back-up spring but hopes to have well house rebuilt and well pump replaced, as they were impacted by the fire, to begin using main well source by June or July 2021 in advance of opening the system. 6/23 update, switched to wells, VOCs in several burned areas of plastic pipe below MCLs and HALs, whole system disinfected, flushed, and a zero ppm chlorine residual verified. Four coliform samples returned absent for total coliform and E. coli. The do not drink notice has been lifted for 3 connections. System now activated with more than 10 users (staff) on site. Students to arrive in early August. Will begin routine coliform sampling in July. |
