| Details: | SUMMARY: Lead and Copper Sampling Assistance DETAILS: Westwood Village is a community water system located about 8 miles east of Waldport. The water system serves 120 through 81 connections. There are two wells, with one serving as an emergency backup. The Circuit Rider was contacted by Amy Chapman with the Lincoln Co Health Dept to assist the water system with gaining compliance on a few issues. The Circuit Rider was also contacted by Laurel Anderson with the Oregon PUC regarding water quality complaints. The water system had a lead excursion in December 2013. There have also been previous copper excursion. The water system has a calcite contactor treatment system for corrosion control (as well as hypochlorination for residual maintenance). In addition to the lead and copper issue, Westwood Village Co-op. needs help with CCR, O&M Manual and planning for a Master Plan. Visited water system with primary purpose of inspecting corrosion control system. Provided inspection report regarding lack of calcite contactor capacity for full well flows and other issues. Recommendations include the need for a Master Plan, O&M Manual and CCR. An evaluation of the corrosion control system should be performed. ACTION NEEDED: Provide additional assistance regarding the various issues as needed. | ||
