Details: SUMMARY: Coli Alert RT DETAILS: 8-21-14 Tried contacting Bill Deese by phone. Phone is no longer in service or disconnected.8-22-14 Checked water file for better contact information. Sent Casey Lyon an e-mail with the State Drinking Water office in Springfield, to see if he had any extra information.8-25-14 Drove to Mr. Bill Deeses residence and obtained his new phone number (541- 285 -5258) and went over the required repeat sampling plan. Mr. Deese said that he was aware that they had a total colfiorm alert, and that he and another resident had shocked the well on Friday (8-22-14). I told Mr. Deese that I will be by the following day to check the chlorine residual in water.Upon further inquiry into why they might have had a total coliform hit, Mr. Deese explained that the water system had replaced their main water line due to corroding/rusting pipes. Mr. Deese said they had a contractor come in and put in a 2" pex water line, three weeks ago.8-26-14 I went to Mr. Deeses residence that morning (9am) and checked the chlorine residual which was at 0.1 mg/L. I told Mr. Deese that the sample sites, where he is going to take the repeat samples, need to run there water for about an hour prior to taking the sample. Mr. Deese said that he will take the samples around 3 or 4pm and then refrigerate the samples, or take them the morning of the 27th. ACTION NEEDED: I told Mr. Deese that they need to take four repeat water samples (one at the site that tested positive, one upstream, one downstream and one at the well head. Then I told him they need to take five water samples in September. Waiting results.
