Details: | SUMMARY: Response to localize boil order - loss of pressure DETAILS: Jim outlined the Districts response to a localized loss of pressure and resulting boil order issued to 33 homes and two restaurants in the area of Dabney Park (near East Columbia River Highway and SE Neilson Road). Dabney Park was drilling a sign post and ruptured a 4 inch line around 3 pm on 9/10. Poor mapping and no toning wire were the cause of the ruptured line. District called and used door hangers to make contact with the affected users on 9/10. System has adequate 20 psi pressure in the remainder of the system. System made repairs, flushed, restored pressure and a chlorine residual of 1.4 mg/L. Bacti sample taken into lab early on 9/11, results due on 9/12 late. I provided DWS contact information for Jim to call upon receipt of lab results and notified Multnomah County of the two restaurants impacted by the event. ACTION NEEDED: Jim (Corbett) to contact DWS upon receipt of sample results to discuss lifting the localized boil water notice. DWS to continue to offer support in minimizing events due to line breaks/loss of positive pressure. UPDATE: Jim called 9/12 to report that the sample results were absent for coliform/E.coli - boil notice lifted. |
